MT 60 RS

A scrambler-style radial tyre that prioritises road performance, the MT 60 RS uses Pirelli's Superbike racing compound technology in a knobbly tread pattern. Front compound is derived from the Diablo Rosso II (silica/carbon black balance) for dynamic dry grip; rear uses a high-silica sport touring compound for mileage and exceptional wet performance. Multi-pitch tread design reduces rolling noise and increases contact patch compared to the original MT 60. Radial construction with a 0° steel belt delivers stability and steering precision that aggressive knobbly tyres typically sacrifice. OE on every Ducati Scrambler variant (Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle, Classic, 1100) plus rumoured OE on the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 801. Available in H-rated (130 mph) and W-rated (168 mph) versions across a wide size range. Best thought of as a 70/30 or 80/20 road tyre with scrambler looks, not a dual-sport tyre.

Terrain & Conditions
Tarmac (main use), fire roads, gravel tracks, light unsurfaced lanes, occasional dirt. Not for mud, sand, or technical off-road. The tyre "glides over" loose surfaces rather than digging in.
Rider Types
Modern scrambler and retro bike owners who want the look and a real performance tyre, not a compromise. Cafe racer and custom builders. Riders whose off-road use is limited to dry fire roads or occasional gravel. Sport-touring riders who want a scrambler aesthetic without giving up wet grip or lean angle confidence. Not the right tyre for green laning or anyone planning genuine off-road work.
Motorcycle Types
Ducati Scrambler range (all variants), Ducati Scrambler 1100. BMW R nineT / Urban G/S / Scrambler. Triumph Scrambler 900 / Scrambler 1200 / Bonneville T100 / T120 (17" rear sizes). Yamaha XSR700 / XSR900 / SCR950. Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 / 701 / 801. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 / Continental GT / Super Meteor. Honda CL500. Moto Guzzi V7 / V9. Various supermoto and custom builds in 17" / 18" sizes.
Performance
MudBetter than nothing
Closed scrambler tread and road compound clog and skate in mud. Wrong tyre for the job.
GravelQuite good
Capable on dry fire roads and well-graded gravel. Real-world riders report keeping pace with knobbly-shod bikes on hardpack rocky tracks. Loses grip in deep loose stuff.
GrassQuite good
Decent thanks to high-silica compound, but the closed pattern limits grip on wet roots and slick clay.
Wet Tarmac GripSuper amazing
Exceptional. Real-world riders consistently praise wet tarmac performance. The Diablo Rosso II compound heritage shows here.
Road DurabilityLong-lasting
Performance compound trades wear for grip. Real-world reports of 3,000 to 5,000 km on the rear, faster on heavy bikes ridden hard. Lighter bikes (Ducati Scrambler 800, retros) see better mileage.
Off-Road DurabilityLong-lasting
Fine for occasional fire road and gravel use. Not built to take sustained rough off-road punishment.

Running tubeless? You can still fit a tube.
In rough terrain — rocky enduro, low-pressure riding, Iceland-style adventure — fitting a heavy-duty tube inside a tubeless tyre is a legitimate and smart setup. Rim size below is matched to your selected tyre (17" rim).
