Michelin's Starcross 5 Soft is a motocross tyre engineered for soft terrain such as loam, wet dirt, and sand. It features widely spaced tread blocks for self-cleaning and exceptional grip in muddy or soft conditions. Lightweight and agile, it’s a serious competition tyre—offering strong performance but limited versatility outside the MX track.

Performance
Excellent performance in soft terrain and mud. Wide tread spacing gives strong self-cleaning and bite in deep sections.
Not ideal for gravel or rocky trails—soft compound wears quickly and struggles for grip.
Decent grip on damp roots or logs but can feel sketchy on slick hardpack or greasy slopes.
Strictly off-road; not road legal and performs poorly on tarmac.
Very limited wet grip on asphalt. Compound and tread not suited to any road surface.
Durability
Durable for motocross and soft-terrain enduro use if used properly. Compound holds up well off-road.
Wears extremely fast if used on road. Not recommended for dual sport applications.
