Anakee Adventure 2

The Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 is a road-focused 80/20 adventure tyre, M+S rated. The successor to the original Anakee Adventure brings 30% less perceived noise, 14% more longevity, and 10% better wet grip over its predecessor (Michelin internal tests). Radial construction, premium compound, and a tread pattern tuned for confident wet tarmac and motorway stability. MOTORRAD Test Winner 2026 in their adventure tyre group test. This is a touring-leaning adventure tyre, not a knobbly. Best for riders who spend most of their time on tarmac and only occasionally drop onto gravel or hardpack.

Ideal For
Terrain & Conditions
Tarmac (main use), gravel roads, fire roads, hardpack trails, light forestry tracks. Some highway use is its core strength. Not for mud, sand, or technical off-road.
Rider Types
Adventure and touring riders whose riding is mostly road-based, with occasional gravel sections. Long distance touring riders who want quiet motorway manners and confident wet weather grip. Commuters on big adventure bikes. Not the right tyre for green laning, BDR-style trips, or anyone planning real off-road work.
Motorcycle Types
BMW R 1300 GS / R 1250 GS, KTM 1290 Super Adventure S/T, Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports, Triumph Tiger 1200 GT, Ducati Multistrada V4 S, Yamaha Ténéré 700 (road-leaning use), Suzuki V-Strom 1050 / 800. Mainly fits 19" front and 17" rear adventure tourers in radial sizes.
Performance
MudBetter than nothing
Wrong tyre for mud. Closely-spaced tread blocks clog fast and the road compound is too hard to bite.
GravelQuite good
Acceptable on hard pack and well-graded gravel roads. Lacks the bite of a 50/50 like the TKC 80² for loose or technical going.
GrassQuite good
Confident on wet roads and damp hardpack. Less grip on wet roots, mud, or off-camber off-road than a knobblier tyre.
Wet Tarmac GripSuper amazing
10% better wet grip than the original Anakee Adventure. One of the best wet road performers in the adventure category.
Road DurabilityIronclad
14% longevity improvement over the predecessor. Strong mileage life expected on heavy adventure bikes.
Off-Road DurabilityLong-lasting
Built for road life. Fine for occasional gravel or hardpack, but not built to survive sustained rough off-road use.

Running tubeless? You can still fit a tube.
In rough terrain — rocky enduro, low-pressure riding, Iceland-style adventure — fitting a heavy-duty tube inside a tubeless tyre is a legitimate and smart setup. Rim size below is matched to your selected tyre (17" rim).
