Kenda Trakmaster DTR is a DOT-legal dual sport tyre built with a bias toward serious off-road riding. With tall, aggressive knobs and strong carcass construction, it digs into loose terrain with authority. It’s legal for street use but excels in the dirt, especially in mud, sand, and soft ground. Road manners are acceptable for short transfers but not its strength.
Ideal For
Terrain & Conditions
Mud, loose trails, gravel tracks, fire roads, forest sections. Acceptable for brief on-road transfers.
Rider Types
Ideal for trail riders and dual sport adventurers who prioritise off-road ability but still want DOT legality.
Motorcycle Types
Great match for Honda CRF300L, Kawasaki KLX230, Yamaha XT250, and similar lightweight dual sports.
Performance
Tall, open knobs offer strong self-cleaning in mud. Performs well in moderate to deep mud, though not quite at the level of pure enduro tyres.
Strong grip and braking performance on gravel and loose surfaces. Directional stability is a highlight.
Decent grip on wet dirt and grass thanks to aggressive tread, though rubber compound isn’t optimised for truly slick conditions.
DOT-approved but feels vague and noisy on pavement. Best kept to short stints between trails.
Not ideal in the wet. Large blocks reduce contact patch and increase slide risk when cornering or braking.
Durability
Lasts reasonably well off-road. Lugs hold up across rocks and roots, though aggressive use will still chew through them over time.
Road use causes faster wear. Tread deforms at speed, leading to noticeable performance loss on asphalt.
