Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41 is a serious 60/40 dual-sport tyre built for adventure bikes that aren’t afraid to get dirty. Featuring large, blocky tread with wide spacing and high rigidity, the AX41 excels in mud, gravel, and rocky terrain while maintaining acceptable behaviour on-road. While noisier and less refined than its road-biased siblings, the AX41 offers great off-road control and surprising durability. Ideal for riders who ride hard and often beyond the tarmac.
Ideal For
Terrain & Conditions
Gravel, rocky trails, dry or wet mud, forest routes, light sand, rough fire roads, some tarmac.

Riders who spend serious time off-road but still ride to the trailhead. Suited to solo explorers, BDR enthusiasts, or overlanders.
Motorcycle Types
BMW R1250GS, KTM 890 Adventure R, Yamaha Ténéré 700, Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro
Performance
The wide block pattern and reinforced carcass provide strong bite in muddy or rutted conditions, clearing well and maintaining forward drive. Not as capable as a pure enduro tyre, but very competent for a 50/50 design.
Outstanding grip on gravel and loose terrain. Predictable, confidence-inspiring feedback even when riding aggressively or fully loaded.
Handles wet grass and slick tracks much better than most adventure tyres. The open tread design and compound grip offer stability where road-biased tyres slip.
Acceptable on tarmac but less refined than road-focused options. You’ll notice more noise and slight vibration, but cornering and braking remain stable.
Surprisingly capable in wet conditions, provided the rider adjusts pace. The compound is grippy, but large tread blocks and flex can reduce surface contact.
Durability
Impressively durable for a blocky off-road tyre. Resists chunking and handles hard terrain like rocks and roots without falling apart. A good option for extended off-road trips.
The AX41 lasts longer than expected for such an aggressive tyre. Riders report 5,000–7,000 miles on the rear with mixed use, thanks to Bridgestone’s high-rigidity compound.
