Trekrider

The Avon Trekrider is a 50/50 dual sport tyre built for riders who want one set that works on tarmac and off it. The aggressive block pattern gives proper bite on gravel and hard pack trails, while the road-focused compound keeps things stable and quiet on the way to the trailhead. All sizes are tubeless and M+S rated, with fitments covering the popular adventure bike rim sizes from 17" through to 21". Think of it as a knobblier alternative to the Continental TKC70 or Mitas E-07. It is at home on green lanes, byways, and mixed adventure riding, but it is not built for hardcore enduro or deep boggy ground. A solid all-rounder for trail and adventure bike owners who do not want to swap tyres for every weekend out.

Perfect for green laning with a road ride to and from the trail. Adventure touring on mixed surfaces. Long distance trips where the route includes occasional gravel, fire roads, or unsurfaced sections. Year-round commuting on a dual sport bike where the rider wants off-road capability without sacrificing road manners. Trail riding clubs and BOAT (byways open to all traffic) exploration.

Ideal For
Terrain & Conditions
Gravel and gravel-oriented trails.
Rider Types
Adventure riders who want one tyre that does everything. Weekend trail explorers who ride to the trail rather than trailer their bike. Dual sport commuters who occasionally drop off the tarmac.
Motorcycle Types
Big Adventure bikes (BMW R1250 GS / R1300 GS, KTM 890 and 1290 Adventure, Triumph Tiger 900 and 1200, Ducati Multistrada V4, Honda Africa Twin), mid-weight adventure and classic dual sport
Performance
MudDecent
Block spacing handles light, drying mud but clogs in proper boggy ground.
GravelReally good
This is its sweet spot. Strong bite on loose stone and hard pack.
GrassQuite good
The multi-terrain compound copes well with damp roots and wet grass within reason.
Wet Tarmac GripQuite good
The multi-terrain compound helps in the wet, but the open block pattern reduces contact patch compared to a pure road tyre. Confident in normal rain, treat with care on cold, damp roundabouts.
Road DurabilityVery durable
Strong wear life for a 50/50 tyre. Riders typically report 6,000 to 8,000 miles on the rear depending on bike weight and riding style.
Off-Road DurabilityVery durable
Built tough for long adventure miles, with carcass strength sized for heavier dual sport bikes.

Running tubeless? You can still fit a tube.
In rough terrain — rocky enduro, low-pressure riding, Iceland-style adventure — fitting a heavy-duty tube inside a tubeless tyre is a legitimate and smart setup. Rim size below is matched to your selected tyre (21" rim).
