Anlas Capra X Rally is a more aggressive sibling to the standard Capra X, designed for serious off-road adventure riders who still want the ability to ride to the trailhead legally. With a blockier tread and improved side lug structure, the Rally version gives better grip in challenging terrain while maintaining decent on-road manners. It’s a true 70/30 tyre that works well in UK green lane conditions, especially on heavier ADV bikes that demand extra support from their tyres.

Ideal For

Terrain & Conditions

UK green lanes, wet trails, dry clay, farm tracks, gravel climbs, and forestry roads.

Rider Types

Adventure riders who want a tyre that leans more toward trail performance without completely sacrificing legality or on-road capability. Suited for riders who push harder off-road and aren’t afraid of wet or muddy terrain.

Motorcycle Types

KTM 890 Adventure, Yamaha Ténéré 700, BMW GS models, Honda Africa Twin, Husqvarna Norden 901, and other serious dual-sport or ADV bikes.

Performance

Mud

The blocky tread with larger gaps clears mud better than the standard Capra X. It still isn’t a full enduro tyre, but performs surprisingly well in soft clay, forest mud, and farm-track slop — especially when aired down slightly.

Gravel

Stable and predictable, even when loaded. The aggressive tread provides grip without feeling squirmy, and the rear digs in well during climbs or descents. It performs confidently at moderate speeds on hardpack or loose stone.

Slippery Surfaces

It holds up decently on wet grass and light leaf cover. There’s good bite on gentle slopes, but confidence drops on steep cambers or slick roots. Better than average for a dual-sport tyre, but not invincible.

Road

Noticeably more vibration and noise than its road-biased siblings. Still safe and stable, but not ideal for sustained motorway travel. Works fine for connecting trails but loses points for comfort and precision.

Wet Tarmac Grip

Acceptable in wet conditions, especially in a straight line, but lean angle confidence is limited. The tyre has a noticeable edge when transitioning to the side blocks, so caution is needed in the wet.

Durability

Off-Road

The reinforced carcass and tougher compound allow it to withstand frequent trail use, rock gardens, and general abuse. Rear begins to lose edge grip around 3,500–4,000 miles with regular off-road use, but holds up very well overall.

Road

The Capra X Rally wears quicker than the regular Capra X when used primarily on road. Expect around 3,000–4,000 miles before performance starts to degrade — slightly better than most tyres in this category, but not built for long-term commuting.
