Anlas Capra Extreme is a true off-road-biased tyre for riders who demand maximum traction in harsh terrain. Sitting firmly in the 80/20 or 90/10 category, it’s built for aggressive green laning, enduro-style terrain, and deep mud while still being road legal. Its tall, widely spaced knobs and reinforced carcass make it an excellent option for big adventure bikes tackling technical trails. This is not a comfort tyre. It's a grip-first, compromise-later option for when conditions get wild.

Ideal For

Terrain & Conditions

Deep mud, wet clay, slippery roots, rocky climbs, and tough enduro-style green lanes. Built for poor conditions and technical riding.

Rider Types

Hardcore trail riders and ADV explorers who need maximum grip and are willing to sacrifice road comfort. Perfect for riders treating their big bike like a dirt bike — the more difficult the terrain, the more the Capra Extreme shines.

Motorcycle Types

Yamaha Ténéré 700, KTM 790/890 Adventure R, Honda Africa Twin, Husqvarna Norden 901, and any adventure bike regularly taken deep off-road.

Performance

Mud

Outstanding performance in deep, wet UK mud. The tall, open tread pattern bites in and self-cleans quickly. It holds momentum through ruts and slop far better than most adventure tyres and rivals proper enduro rubber when aired down.

Gravel

Traction is solid on loose gravel and stones, but the large knobs can feel vague at higher speeds. Good low-speed climbing traction, but slightly twitchy on long hardpack stretches. Prioritises grip over refinement.

Slippery Surfaces

Excellent grip on wet grass, mossy rocks, and clay banks. While not invincible, it maintains usable control where most tyres start sliding. Ideal for wet or cambered green lanes and woodland trails.

Road

Road performance is functional but limited. The Capra Extreme vibrates noticeably, especially at speeds over 60mph, and has reduced braking and cornering predictability compared to less aggressive adventure tyres.

Wet Tarmac Grip

Caution is advised in the wet. While rideable, grip is reduced and transitions from centre to side knobs are abrupt. Suitable for careful connection riding between trails, but not ideal for wet urban conditions.

Durability

Off-Road

Off-road, it holds up impressively well. The compound is soft enough for grip but reinforced to resist chunking and tearing. Ideal for technical trail work and repeated abuse, with strong edge retention up to ~3,500 miles off-road.

Road

The soft compound and tall knobs wear quickly on tarmac. Rear tyres typically start losing road shape and effectiveness after 1,500–2,000 miles if road usage is heavy. Not recommended for mixed commuting.
